EATRIS Conference 'Building Bridges in Translational Medicine'

EATRIS, the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine, will hold its second conference 'Building Bridges in Translational Medicine', on 27 and 28 May 2015 at the Zuiderkerk in Amsterdam. The conference will bring together key international stakeholders in translational research, such as Dr. Christopher P. Austin, NIH- National Centre for Advancing Translational Sciences (USA), or Prof. Dr. Guus van Dongen, VU Medical Centre (the Netherlands). Over two days they will present and discuss the main challenges in translational research, together with the new developments that EATRIS contributes to the field. Attendance is free of charge, but registration is mandatory and closes 15 May.

On the 4th of June the leading Life Sciences event for SMEs will take place for the 4th time in a row. The Dutch Life Sciences SME Event is organized by HollandBIO in cooperation with Mibiton and Top sector LSH. The program includes four interactive biobusiness workshops and 1-on-1 expert meetings with investors, subsidy experts, IP lawyers and business developers. The winners of the BioBusiness Masterclass and the Venture Challenge will be announced. And, last but not least, the day offers ample time for networking during drinks and BBQ.

Last year the leading Dutch technology institutes CTMM (Center for Translational Molecular Medicine) and TI Pharma announced to join forces in a merger that addresses the growing interdependence of medicines and medical technology. On the 9th of June, CTMM and TI Pharma will present their plans for a joint future during a special meeting that will take place in the Muntgebouw in Utrecht. Prominent speakers will address topics varying from connecting research agendas to cases for public-private partnerships. During this meeting titled “CTMM + TI Pharma. Together.”, also the name and identity of the new organization will be revealed.
